Here's the first evidence that Palin (and a bit of Gustav) is starting to hurt the McCain ticket.
Going into the second night of the Republican convention, McCain should be gaining ground on Obama, not losing it.
There's a real danger that the Palin fracas will totally overshadow the Republican convention. There are still three nights and at least one of those should score some points for McCain. But now that they have to make up ground from Palin, it's possible they could come out with very little bounce at all....
Meanwhile, Phyllis Schlafly (remember her anti-gay crusade against her own gay son?) is bitching about McCain keeping Palin under wraps so she doesn't appear at this far-right, "pro-life" fundraiser to point out just how far out of the mainstream on abortion the Republican plank and the VP nominee are. Guess McCain figures he's pandered to the base enough...
Team Obama must be thinking, McCain is just making this too easy.....
