The Republicans are now faced with looking very hard at their party and, as David Frum says, concluding one of two things:
1. Realize that the hardcore social conservative wing of the party is becoming a minority in this country and that changing demographics are against them, so they better re-examine and retool their beliefs if they're going to become a majority party again.
2. Insist that the problem was that this time, they weren't radical enough and what they need to do is ratchet up the cultural attack.
Watching this debate from outside the bubble is fairly interesting. It's like watching Charlie Sheen with a box of chocolates in one hand and a stink bomb in the other, and asking himself, which one would be better a better gift for his pissed off girlfriend?
