Republitrolls: Palin 2012???

More and more I see the Republican trolls on blogs posting "Palin 2012" comments and things like that. Here's a common variation:

"Hillary knows it is Palin in 2012 as the first woman President." - posted by Dittoman.

This tells me that even the trolls - EVEN THE TROLLS - are giving up on McCain. My gosh.

I know they need to tell themselves pretty little stories to keep up the trolling. But do they seriously believe that their party would nominate...would nominate Palin...to go up against Obama in 2012? Do they really believe a) that's the best they've got or b) she'd have a chance in hell?

They'd have a better chance running McCain again.

Guys, since you've given up on 2008, here's a short list for 2012:

John Boehner
Mitt Romney
Rudy Giuliani (maybe he'll learn how to run a campaign)
Mike Huckabee (at least he can have a debate)
Bobby Jindal
Colin Powell
Dan Quayle (hey, even he's better than Palin)

if you have to have a woman, how about these:
Kay Bailey Hutchison
Olympia Snowe
Condoleezza Rice
Bay Buchanan
Rep. Candice Miller (R-Mich.)
Rep. Mary Bono (R)
Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell

Basically, anyone would have a better chance than Palin. It's going to be hard for Republicans to field a candidate in 2012 because it'll be pretty much a definite lose against a popular Obama administration. But a run in 2012 by a younger, energetic new-style Republican might prep the candidate for a chance in 2016 against another Democratic newcomer (since it's unlikely we'll have Biden or Clinton around to run at that point). But my head hurts even trying to think that far in advance.

So please. No more "Palin 2012." It just makes you guys look like even worse strategists than you've been....
